Mar 10, 2023

Amsterdam [Netherlands], March 10: According to Reuters, the Dutch government announced on March 8 that it would impose new restrictions on the export of semiconductor technology to protect national security.
Dutch Trade Minister LiesjeSchreinemacher in a letter to parliament said the regulation would be announced soon. Accordingly, the country will tighten the export of DUV lithography systems, which China is being supplied by ASML Holding NV - the world leader in lithography equipment for the semiconductor industry.
This is the first move by the Netherlands towards adopting the rules urged by the US to limit the growth of the Chinese chipmaking industry
In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said on March 9 that the country firmly opposes the Dutch plan.
