Mar 10, 2023

Hamburg [Germany], March 10: Hamburg police announced before midnight on Thursday that "several" people were killed and others were seriously wounded when "shots were fired" at a church in Hamburg.
Previously, the media reported only that there were dead people in the armed attack in Hamburg.
"A large number of police officers are on the scene," the police said on Twitter.
The attack took place in the church of Jehovah's Witnesses in the GrosBorstel district, in the north of Hamburg around 9:00 p.m., Bild daily reported.
The police stated that they do not yet know what happened to the attacker: "There are indications that the perpetrator of the attack may still be in the building, and may be among the dead," a police spokesman told NTV television.
According to several media outlets, the population was warned of "extreme danger" through a mobile disaster alert application, and the police urged citizens to avoid the part of the city where the attack took place.
"Take shelter in a building immediately," the message adds, and urges not to make phone calls except in an extremely urgent case, so as not to overload the lines.
