Myanmar reports 262 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths

Yangon [Myanmar], October 23: Myanmar confirmed 262 new COVID-19 infections and two more deaths from the virus in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health on Saturday.
The number of COVID-19 infections in the country rose to 630,445, while the death toll reached 19,475, the ministry's release said.
It said that the health authorities tested 11,217 people for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, and the daily positivity rate was 2.34 percent.
A total of 604,067 recovered patients, including 303 new recoveries on Saturday, have been discharged from hospitals so far, it said.
The Southeast Asian country detected its first COVID-19 cases in March 2020.
