Concerns over PoJK unrest, killings raised at UNHRC; UKPNP seeks international action

Concerns over the situation in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including reported civilian deaths, arrests, alleged use of force and communication restrictions, were raised during the ongoing 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. Habib Ur Rehman, Secretary, International Affairs, Jammu Kashmir People’s National Party, spoke about the ongoing civil rights movement, reported casualties and allegations of arrests and restrictions. He also called for greater attention from international organisations to the reported human-rights concerns.
